Journeying through Juice: Day 2

Completed Day 2 of the Classic Reboot.

After today, I'm thinking I may not need to do the whole 15 days. Let's just say the juice that came in, came out the same way... sorry. TMI. But that just tells me I may not need to detox as much as I had thought. If I keep up my clean eating habits, I should be in good shape. I am also doing a Whole Body Cleanse, so I will continue to do that for the whole 14 days, even if I only decide to do 5 days of the juice cleanse.

I'm still super excited to keep juicing though! Don't get me wrong, I want to keep it a daily practice to start off my day. I've noticed after drinking fresh juice, I feel so much more energized and clear headed. Who knows, I may be rid of my daily coffee habit. Cray cray.

Journeying through Juice: Day 1

I recently watched "Fat, Sick, & Nearly Dead" and was inspired to start a juice cleanse.

I've been reading up on the vegan lifestyle, educating myself about the foods I should be eating to make sure I'm getting all my nutrients and also to make sure I have all the facts about foods I should and shouldn't eat. After reading up about juicing on jointhereboot.com, I decided a juice cleanse would be a great way to detox my body and get myself mentally ready to give up animal products. I'm hoping to complete the "Classic," which is 15 days and can be found here: http://www.jointhereboot.com/plans/

This past weekend, I got my grocery list together for the first 5 days, researched and bought my juicer [Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite], and stocked my fridge with everything I needed. Having everything readily available gives me the confidence that I can stick through this!

I completed Day 1, and found that the food listed for the day ended up WAY more than I could possibly finish. However, I guess it's good that I wasn't hungry. The mid-morning juice was made with tons of greens, yet surprisingly the green apples really sweetened it up, and it tasted quite pleasant. And the food on the plan isn't too bad, I LOVE all the homemade dressings I've made and it makes me excited to eat my veggies. Huge plus.

I'll keep you updated throughout the cleanse on my progress in completing it and how I feel while doing it:)

Making a Lifestyle Change...

I've always been one of those people who flirts with different diet lifestyles. I've done the pescatarian thing, I did the vegetarian thing for a couple months... But all of these only ever really lasted a few months.

A couple weeks ago, I read "Skinny Bitch." I was never one of those people who thought I had the willpower in me to go vegan, though I've been going back and forth over the last couple years on going vegetarian. HOWEVER, after finishing "Skinny Bitch," I was done. It sparked something in me, and I decided I was going to do it. I was going to transition to a vegan lifestyle.

So this blog is going to document my trials [and errors] of shifting to a whole food, plant-based diet. Wish me luck!
